New date for Kent Charity Awards gala evening announced

The sponsors and organisers of the Kent Charity Awards are delighted to announce that they will take place on Thursday 20 May 2021 at the Kent Event Centre in Maidstone. These prestigious awards, which are the major event for the third sector in Kent, were postponed due to the pandemic.

Everyone that entered their charity into this year’s awards will be contacted and given the opportunity to resubmit their entry and to also answer additional questions on how their organisation has coped during the pandemic.  If you haven’t already submitted your entry, don’t worry as you have until Friday 5 February, but the organisers urge people to not leave it until the last minute as the sooner your entry is received, the sooner your charities will get mentioned in the KM Newspapers.

Susan Robinson, Partner at Kreston Reeves said, “The sector has risen to the challenge of the last 6 months, adapting quickly to continue supporting its beneficiaries often against a backdrop of falling funds. There has been so much incredible work done and the awards are an opportunity to celebrate these achievements.  Don’t keep it a secret, let us know and get your entries in”.

Volunteer and Trustee of the Year Category

The past 6 months have been incredibly difficult for the Third Sector and many charities have had to change the way they deliver their services.   Volunteering has soured during lockdown and Trustees have had to put in new measures to keep their charities afloat.  Both playing a vital role in helping to continue making the lives of others better.

If you know of a volunteer or trustee that has gone that extra mile, please don’t forget to nominate them into the popular Volunteer and Trustee of the Year categories.

The Kent Charity Awards was set up in 2015 to recognise and reward the hard work of charities, volunteers and trustees working in Kent.  Since then they have gone from strength to strength and are now a firm date in the diaries of the Third Sector.
