Now in their tenth year, these awards continue highlighting the work of Kent’s amazing charities, volunteers, and trustees. As celebrations for the 10th anniversary begin, the organisers hope for another bumper year of entries and nominations. Entry is open to large and small charities based in Kent or nationwide charities that offer a strong service delivery in the county.
In addition to entering your charity, individuals can nominate a trustee or volunteer for an award. These two prestigious awards celebrate the dedication and involvement of volunteers in their organisations. Thousands of volunteers in Kent deserve recognition for their tireless commitment to the charity sector. Susan Robinson, head judge and partner at Kreston Reeves, said, “The charity sector faces many challenges, be it funding, lack of volunteers, or increased demand and societal expectations. There are so many reasons to enter the Kent Charity Awards. Last year’s Start-up of the Year, Keep Talking Services, CEO Alex Richardson said, “Winning this award means everything to us. To be able to be nominated for such a prestigious award is one thing, but to win means so much. We have already had several large organisations approach us asking to speak further about collaboration, and having this award paves the way for new funding opportunities.
Alex continued, “Being able to say we are Kent Start-up Charity of the Year allows us recognition, which helps with funding. People have also approached me to say they are proud of what we have achieved, leaving us with that special feeling that we have this! “
Entries and nominations must be submitted by Friday, May 2, 2025. The judges will carefully review each submission and create a shortlist. They will then visit each finalist for further evaluation, allowing the charity to explain more about its work.
